VIP Early Access and Private Drops
Learn how to create exclusive releases, give members early access, and build a premium private beat experience.
VIP Early Access and Private Drops
VIP Early Access and Private Drops help you create a more exclusive experience for your best customers and members.
Instead of making every beat available to everyone at the same time, Banaslap Studio lets you control when and how selected customers can access specific beats.
What is VIP Early Access?
VIP Early Access allows selected members or customers to access a beat before it becomes publicly available.
This can be useful when you want to:
- reward paying members;
- create urgency around new releases;
- give VIP customers first access;
- make your membership offer more valuable;
- build a more premium store experience.
For example, you can release a beat to VIP members first, then make it public later.
What are Private Drops?
Private Drops are exclusive releases that are not available to everyone.
They can be used for:
- member-only beats;
- limited beat packs;
- private catalog sections;
- exclusive campaigns;
- selected customers;
- premium subscribers;
- artist-specific drops.
Private Drops help your store feel more curated and less generic.
Why exclusivity matters
Beat selling is not only about uploading tracks.
A strong store experience can create desire, urgency, and loyalty.
VIP Early Access and Private Drops make customers feel like they are getting something special.
This can help increase:
- membership value;
- customer retention;
- repeat purchases;
- perceived exclusivity;
- launch excitement around new beats.
Before you start
Before using VIP Early Access or Private Drops, make sure you have:
- installed Banaslap Studio;
- activated your license;
- created at least one beat;
- configured membership access if needed;
- decided which customers or members should get access;
- prepared your release strategy.
Step 1: Choose the beat
Open the beat you want to configure.
Decide whether the beat should be:
- public immediately;
- available to members first;
- private to selected customers;
- part of a Private Drop;
- unavailable until a specific release moment.
This decision depends on your release strategy.
Step 2: Configure VIP Early Access
If you want members to access the beat before the public release, enable VIP Early Access.
You can use this for:
- new releases;
- premium members;
- early catalog previews;
- limited campaigns;
- high-value customers.
Make sure the early access rules are clear so customers understand when the beat becomes public.
Step 3: Configure Private Drop access
If the beat should only be visible to specific members or customers, configure it as a Private Drop.
Private Drops can be used to create a more exclusive experience.
For example:
- a beat pack only for active members;
- a private release for VIP subscribers;
- a limited drop for selected artists;
- a hidden catalog section for premium customers.
Step 4: Connect access to memberships
Private access is most powerful when combined with memberships.
You can create a membership plan that includes access to exclusive beats or early releases.
For example:
- VIP members get new beats first;
- Studio Vault members get Private Drops;
- premium subscribers get member-only downloads;
- selected plans get access to specific releases.
This helps turn your beat store into a recurring business.
Step 5: Test customer access
Before announcing a VIP release or Private Drop, test the experience.
Check that:
- public visitors cannot access private beats;
- eligible members can access the beat;
- the beat appears in the correct area;
- the audio preview works;
- license options display correctly;
- downloads are available only when allowed.
Testing is important because private content must be protected.
Public visibility
Depending on your setup, you may choose to:
- hide private beats completely;
- show the beat but disable purchase;
- show a locked state;
- show a release date;
- show access only to eligible members.
Choose the option that best fits your marketing strategy.
Best practices
Use exclusivity carefully.
If everything is private, customers may not understand what your store offers.
A good balance is:
- public catalog for discovery;
- VIP Early Access for members;
- Private Drops for premium moments;
- exclusive content for loyal customers.
This creates a clear reason for customers to become members.
Starter and Pro
VIP Early Access and Private Drops are included in both Starter and Pro.
Starter includes these features with basic analytics and a 10% Banaslap commission on beat and membership sales.
Pro includes these features with advanced analytics, 0% Banaslap commission on beat and membership sales, and a 1% service fee per successful transaction, excluding Stripe processing fees.
Troubleshooting
If a customer cannot access a VIP beat, check that:
- the customer is logged in;
- the customer has the correct membership;
- the membership is active;
- the beat is assigned to the correct access rule;
- the access period is currently active.
If a private beat appears publicly, check the beat visibility and membership access settings.
If a Private Drop does not appear for members, check the membership plan, beat access rules, and publication status.
