Configure licenses
Create license options for your beats, set prices, define included files, and control what customers receive after purchase.
Configure licenses
Licenses let you sell the same beat with different usage rights, prices, and downloadable files.
For example, you can offer a simple MP3 license, a WAV license, a stems license, or an exclusive license for the same beat.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- installed Banaslap Studio;
- activated your Banaslap Studio license;
- uploaded at least one beat;
- prepared the files you want to deliver for each license type.
What a license controls
A license can define:
- the license name;
- the price;
- the included file formats;
- the usage terms;
- whether stems are included;
- whether the license is exclusive;
- what the customer receives after purchase.
Step 1: Open the license settings
In your WordPress admin, open **Banaslap OS**.
Go to the section where licenses or license templates are managed.
Depending on your setup, licenses may be configured globally as templates, then assigned to beats.
Step 2: Create your license options
Create the license options you want to offer.
Common examples:
- Leasing - MP3
- Leasing+ - MP3 + WAV
- Premium - MP3 + WAV + stems
- Exclusive - full exclusive rights
Use names that are easy for artists and customers to understand.
Step 3: Set the price
Set the price for each license.
A good structure usually gives customers a clear reason to upgrade from one license to another.
For example:
- lower price for MP3;
- higher price for WAV;
- premium price for stems;
- highest price for exclusive rights.
Step 4: Define included files
For each license, choose which files the customer should receive after purchase.
Examples:
- MP3 license: MP3 file only;
- WAV license: MP3 and WAV files;
- stems license: MP3, WAV, and stems archive;
- exclusive license: all files included.
Only attach files that should be delivered for that specific license.
Step 5: Add usage terms
Add clear usage terms so customers understand what they can and cannot do.
You can mention things like:
- commercial use;
- streaming platforms;
- music videos;
- monetization;
- number of copies or streams if your license model uses limits;
- whether credit is required;
- whether the beat remains available for sale.
Keep the wording simple and consistent.
Step 6: Assign licenses to a beat
Open the beat you want to sell and choose which licenses should be available for that beat.
Not every beat needs every license.
For example, you may offer exclusive licenses only on selected beats.
Step 7: Test the license modal
Open your store page and test the customer flow:
- Open a beat.
- Click the buy or add to cart button.
- Check that the license options appear.
- Select each license.
- Confirm that the price updates correctly.
- Add the beat to the cart.
- Check that the selected license is shown correctly.
Best practices
Keep your license structure simple at first.
A good starting point is:
- one entry-level license;
- one higher-quality license;
- one premium license;
- one exclusive option if you sell exclusives.
Avoid creating too many options because it can make the buying decision harder.
Troubleshooting
License options do not appear
Make sure the beat has at least one active license assigned.
The wrong price appears
Check the price configured for the license and update the beat.
The customer receives the wrong files
Check which downloadable files are attached to each license.
The exclusive license should not be available anymore
Remove or disable the exclusive option for that beat after it has been sold, depending on your workflow.
